Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Grants Specialist to spearhead our grant acquisition efforts. This part-time, 1099 contract role averages 10 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours during peak grant application periods. This position is perfect for a retired professional seeking meaningful part-time work or a freelancer with a proven track record in grant procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Grant Research: Identify and evaluate grant opportunities that align with Penny Forward’s mission and strategic objectives.
- Proposal Development: Craft compelling, high-quality letters of intent and grant proposals in collaboration with the CEO, ensuring timely submissions.
- Grants Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive grants calendar to track application deadlines, submission timelines, and reporting requirements.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and sustain relationships with grant-making organizations to foster long-term partnerships.
- Compliance and Reporting: Collaborate with the CEO to gather data and prepare accurate reports for funders, ensuring all reporting requirements are met.
- Industry Insight: Stay informed about trends in grant funding to identify new opportunities for support.
- Budget Development: Work with the CEO to ensure all project pieces are fully covered in the proposal.
- Document Library Management: Organize and maintain meticulous records of grant proposals, awarded grants, and reporting documentation.
- Recognize Funders: Ensure funders are acknowledged in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in securing grants for nonprofit organizations.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive grant proposals and reports.
- Excellent research and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, especially during high-demand periods.
- Familiarity with financial education, disability services, and nonprofit operations is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with donor management software or grant tracking tools.
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Work Environment
This is a remote, part-time contract position. Flexibility is offered, but availability to attend occasional virtual meetings during business hours is required.
Compensation
$30/hour
